Services

Four service lines.
One integrated operation.

From port to door, dry land to dry storage — Veteran handles the freight, the paperwork, the kilometres, and the warehouse floor. Each service is a distinct discipline, but they're built to operate as one continuous handover.

01
Freight forwarding
End-to-end coordination of cargo. Documents drafted, customs cleared, mode selected, lane chosen — single point of accountability from origin to destination.
02
Road transport
Long-haul cross-border trucking on the SADC corridor. Fleet of 205 vehicles, fully tracked, properly permitted, driver-managed.
03
Ocean freight
FCL and LCL through Walvis Bay and Durban. Booking, port handling, customs and inland delivery — quoted and invoiced as one move.
04
Warehousing
Bonded and general storage at strategic inland points. Cross-docking, inventory management, secure short and long-term holding.

Freight forwarding.

End-to-end coordination of cargo across road, rail and sea — with the documentation rigour the trade demands.

Forwarding is paperwork before it is movement. The cargo will travel — what determines whether it arrives is the integrity of the documents that travel with it.

What's included
A single accountable operator from origin to destination.
When you instruct Veteran as forwarder, we own every step of the move — coordinating subcontractors, handling documents, clearing customs, and reconciling the bill at the end.
  • Customs clearance. Import and export clearance at every major Southern African border post and port — Beit Bridge, Chirundu, Kasumbalesa, Kazungula, Sesheke, Walvis Bay, Durban.
  • Documentation. Bills of lading, COMESA certificates of origin, SAD500s, packing lists, commercial invoices, delivery orders — drafted, verified, lodged.
  • Multimodal coordination. Cargo that arrives by sea and finishes by truck — or vice versa — needs a single owner of the handover. That owner is us.
  • Corridor selection. Walvis Bay, Durban, Dar es Salaam, Beira — different cargo wants different routes. We select on cost, transit time, congestion risk, and seasonality.
  • Cargo insurance. Marine and inland transit cover arranged on request, with full sum-insured documentation.
  • Reconciliation. One operator, one bill — no chasing three vendors when something goes wrong.

Ocean freight.

FCL and LCL services through Walvis Bay and Durban — with consolidation, deconsolidation and inland delivery to landlocked markets.

FCL
Full container
20ft · 40ft · 40HC · Reefer
Full container loads from origin port to inland destination. Booking, freight, port handling, customs clearance, and onward road delivery — quoted as a single rate.
LCL
Less than container
Consolidation · Groupage
Smaller shipments consolidated with other cargo at origin port. Cost-efficient for sub-container quantities; deconsolidated at our coastal agent for inland delivery.
PROJECT
Project cargo
RoRo · Breakbulk · OOG
Out-of-gauge cargo, rolling stock, mining equipment, construction machinery. Specialist handling at Walvis Bay and Durban with abnormal-load inland transport.
Choosing the gateway
Walvis Bay vs Durban — when each makes sense.
Walvis Bay (Atlantic): often shorter customs queues, naturally suits cargo originating from Europe, the Americas, or West Africa, and routes well into northern Zambia and the DRC Copperbelt.

Durban (Indian Ocean): Africa's busiest container port, deepest carrier choice and frequency, naturally suits cargo from Asia and the Middle East, and routes well via the North-South corridor into Zambia, Zimbabwe and the DRC.

We'll recommend the gateway that matches your cargo, origin, and timeline.
04 / 04 · Warehousing
/04

Warehousing.

Secure storage, cross-docking, and inventory management at strategic inland points. Bonded and general cargo, short-term and long-term.

Warehousing is the silent half of forwarding. Move the cargo well, and clients notice; store it well, and they trust you with the next one.

  • Bonded storage. For cargo under customs control awaiting clearance, transit, or onward dispatch — held in compliant bonded space with full audit trail.
  • General storage. Cleared cargo held short or long term — palletised, racked, or bulk floor storage. Climate-controlled space available on request.
  • Cross-docking. Cargo arrives, is sorted, and is dispatched outbound on the same operational cycle — minimising dwell time and storage cost for time-sensitive freight.
  • Inventory management. Stock counting, receipt and dispatch reporting, and reconciliation against client systems — so the warehouse floor is never the source of doubt.
  • Security and access control. 24-hour security, controlled access, and CCTV-monitored handling areas.
  • Regulatory compliance. Hazardous cargo segregation, food-grade handling protocols where required, and full chain-of-custody documentation.
05 — How we work

From quote to POD.

A typical Veteran move follows four steps. Each step has its own owner inside our operation and its own documentation trail.

/01 · Quote
Lane scoped, rate quoted
You share the cargo, origin, destination and timeline. We come back with a written quote covering freight, handling, customs, and any expected ancillaries.
/02 · Booking
Move planned, papers drafted
Once the quote is accepted, we open the booking, draft documentation, allocate equipment or vessel space, and confirm the operational schedule.
/03 · Move
Cargo executed, status visible
Cargo is loaded, cleared at origin, transits the corridor, and clears at destination. Status updates flow to the tracking portal at every milestone.
/04 · POD
Delivered, documented, billed
Cargo is delivered, proof of delivery is captured, and the file closes with reconciled invoicing — no surprise charges, no missing paperwork.
